BANKS LOWER THE BIST
The BIST100 opened the new week on a negative tone, much last week, despite a positive opening, thus closing the day 0.43% lower at 9334, and with a turnover of TRY 133.2bn. The benchmark was dragged down by the Banks losing on average 2.23%, due mainly to Türkiye?s continued grey listing, and due to the heavy sell-offs in the Iron & Steel stocks, whereas only the Conglomerates managed to close slightly positive, thanks to KCHOL. ASELS-FROTO and GUBRF were yesterday?s most bought BIST30 stocks, whereas YKBNK-AKBNK and KOZAL were the most sold. We also continued to see the continuing ?sell? order on EREGL shares, falling yesterday by another 1.98%, and the contagion spilling over to its peer, KRDMD, which lost 2.51% in value, coupled with iron ore prices plummeting to their lowest level in 4 months in China, due to demand concerns. As of print, the TRY is trading flat against both the USD and the Euro at 31.13 and 33.77, as of print, while the DXY has receded to 103.77. On the Bonds? side, both the 2yr and 10yr rates rose by 34bps and 10bps to 43.99% and 26.91%, respectively. As of print, Brent is trading lower at $81.71, due to hopes of a cease-fire in the Middle East, whereas Ounce GOLD has risen slightly to $2033. Please note that today, the Finance and Treasury Minister, as well as the CBRT governor, will be heading to Brazil for the G-20 Summit.
AGENDA:
There are no major macro releases on the local front, whereas the US will release the Durable Goods Orders, Richmond Fed Industrial Index and Conference Board Confidence Index.
CORPORATE:
ASTOR: Disclosed that it expects revenues to increase by 23% to $826mn and exports to increase by 96% to 400mn.
